Community Activities

Worship

Sundays, 11:00 am

Sunday Worship gathers neighbors and longtime church members in radically inclusive community. Radically inclusive means that we intentionally welcome all people because of the beauty of God's creative diversity in our shared humanity. Worship here can often be experienced as a laboratory for "practicing" our faith everyday in complex relationships amidst a challenging cultural climate.

We also believe it is important for the whole body of Christ to be present in worship, so a play area is set up in the chapel for young children to participate more passively. We are always prepared for noises, wiggles, and surprises with smiling faces and helpfulness as we encourage these little ones to grow in to more active participants.

Bread & Cup

Wednesdays, 7:30 pm  (on hiatus)

Bread & Cup is an alternative worship gathering to the Sunday service. While the candle and lamp-lit setting invites participants into a space of reverence, one can also anticipate laughter, merriment and messing up as we experiment with ancient practices and newer means of experiencing God's presence in community. Conversation reflects on readings from holy scripture and contemporary writings. The sacrament of Holy Communion is offered to all. Musical offerings incorporate secular songs alongside more traditional hymnody arranged for contemporary instruments. Newcomers are invited to participate at their own pace, welcome to dive in to the experience or just observe.

Buddhist Meditation with Lotus Heart Sangha

PlayGroup

AcroYoga Jam

Tuesdays, 6:30 pm

AcroYoga is a great way to meet new friends and bond with old ones. Do you remember playing airplane as a kid? It's just like that! Combining elements of yoga, acrobatics, and thai massage, AcroYoga is a partner activity that builds trust, develops physical strength and confidence, and is just plain fun. The jam is an informal opportunity for practitioners to get together and work on their skills. Experience is not required to attend, but taking a beginner class is recommended. You can find more information about classes and Jams on Facebook at Baltimore Acro Yoga Jam.
