MASS OF REPENTANCE| Tuesday, June 17th, 7:30 pm
A resolution to commemorate June 17 as a day of repentance for the martyrdom of the Emanuel Nine was adopted by the Churchwide Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on August 8, 2019. Congregations of the ELCA are encouraged to reaffirm their commitment to repenting of the sins of racism and white supremacy which continue to plague this church, to venerate the martyrdom of the Emanuel Nine, and to mark this day of penitence with study and prayer. A special Mass (a service of Holy Communion) will be offered in the Chapel on Tuesday evening to mark this occasion. Pastor Jim will also offer time for the Rite of Individual Confession from 6pm - 7:15pm before the Mass.
Congregational Planning Meeting for Pastor Jim’s Sabbatical
As we prepare for Pastor Jim to take a much needed sabbatical during the months of August, September, and October, church council is working on the plan for our community members to step into various roles to keep St. Luke’s functioning in his absence and potentially beyond. Our Second meeting will be on Sunday, June 22nd following worship to plan together. These meetings will help us all understand what needs to be tended to and open a door for purposeful engagement. Your presence and participation are so important, we look to see you then.
FOURTH SUNDAY GAME NIGHTS| 4:00pm-8:00pm
Are you a board game enthusiast? Card Games? Chess? Come on over, meet some people and have some fun. Bring a game, come for one round or stay for all! See you there!
